From sourcing to roasting, blending to serving, Pelican Rouge coffee is founded upon a rich heritage of experience and expertise. With a passion for great tasting coffee, we have specialists that travel from Central America to the Far East to find the freshest, highest quality coffee beans.
The Pelican Rouge story began in Antwerp in 1863, when Joseph van Leckwijck and his sons established a coffee roastery and started producing high quality yet affordable coffee that could be widely enjoyed. Their mastery of the coffee allowed them to become the first Pan-European coffee business.
Today we still have our own roastery in Dordrecht, Netherlands. All of our craftspeople - blenders, roasters, baristas, purchasers and research and development experts, apply this inherited knowledge to every single gram of coffee we produce.
We also understand that times and tastes change, and our research and development team continues to develop, source and create new products to enhance consumers coffee experience.
We recognise our responsibilities to both the environment and local communities.
Our coffees are sourced from more than 20 countries around the world, and are proud that almost 50% of our coffee is already certified (Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, UTZ). We are striving to increase this further.
By consciously choosing certified products, we help ensure sustainability for our clients and future generations.
Locally we continue to strive for even more environmentally friendly packaging and all of our packaging has been aluminium-free since 2003.

Pelican Rouge Doppio
This blend of Arabica and Robusta is intensely roasted, promoting a rich and bold taste profile. Delicious caramel and chocolate aromas are followed by a syrup-like aftertaste making this coffee perfect for cappuccinos and espressos. It is also Fairtrade certified.
Pelican Rouge Concerto
Being a medium roast, this coffee is mellow bodied with a well balanced, smooth flavour. This blend of predominantly Robusta has a distinct taste combining notes of spice with subtle bitterness to preserve the fragrant flavour that is typical of Robusta, whilst the added Arabica makes this a versatile coffee suitable for all coffees.
A 100% Arabica blend dark roasted for those who enjoy the strong, intensity of a truly perfected coffee. Notes of bittersweet dark chocolate complimented by a slight acidity make this blend ideal for the traditional espresso and small strong coffeee drinks.
Pelican Rouge Barista
A characteristic blend of the finest Arabica and Robust coffee with a full bodied flavour. Dark roasted to enhance the infusion of caramel and almond notes, the Robusta adds a spiciness to this blend creating a strength that influences all espresso based drinks.
